De-ionization refers to removing of all dissolved salts and minerals from water with the help of two types of ion exchange resin, anion and cation resins.

 

the process is similar to softener plants,

on contact of water with the resins,minerals and salts gets filtered out and low TDS water is achieved.

 

There are various ways of de - ionization:

1) by passing water through different vessel one containing cation resins and other containing anion resins.

 

2)By using mixed bed vessel contain both anion and cation resins in single vessel.

 

3) Both the above.
